Sassa Teruko (佐々輝子)

Teruko SASSA (year of birth unknown - 1630) was a woman who lived from the Azuchi Momoyama to Edo periods. Her father was Narimasa SASSA, and her mother (Jikoin) was the daughter of Sadakatsu MURAI. Her alias was Gakuseiin.

At first, she married to Seizo SASSA, her cousin, and gave birth to Goroshiro, but Seizo was assassinated in the Honnoji Incident.

After Seizo's death, she returned to her parents' home but became the second wife (consort) of Chancellor Nobufusa TAKATSUKASA. Nobufusa and Teruko had seven children, including Nobuhisa TAKATSUKASA and Takako TAKATSUKASA (the lawful wife of Iemitsu TOKUGAWA).
